David Alistair Pearce, born on June 14, 1963 in Esher, Surrey, United Kingdom, is a British DJ and EDM producer. He began his career under the pseudonym Dave Adams at Radio Jackie 227. His first international DJ job was at Studio 29 in Mumbai, India, at the age of 17. Pearce started presenting on BBC Radio London in September 1984 and later became a key figure in the development of English dance and club culture. He introduced early hip hop events in the UK, including The Raising Hell Tour with Run-D.M.C. and Beastie Boys. In 1990, he joined Kiss 100 FM and co-promoted raves at London Astoria. Pearce created NuLife Recordings in partnership with BMG, which scored top 40 hits including "Touch Me" by Rui da Silva (2001). He joined BBC Radio 1 in April 1995, presenting Dance Anthems on Sundays at 7pm for ten years.
