Zaïnaba Ahmed, also known as Zaïnaba, born on December 31, 1960, in Mitsamiouli, Grande Comore, is a Comorian singer. She began singing at the age of five during weddings on the islands. Her career took off when she became the first Comorian artist to sign with an international record label while residing in the Comoros. Her album, Comores : chants de femmes, was released in 2005. Throughout her career, Ahmed has released three albums that draw from the traditional music of the archipelago, often incorporating messages advocating for women's rights, gender equality, and children's education. She founded an association dedicated to promoting women's rights, showcasing her commitment to social causes alongside her musical endeavors.
