Phazm, a French death 'n' roll band from Nancy, Lorraine, was formed in 2003 by guitarists Pierre "Pierhryck" Valence and Patrick "Pathryck" Martin. The band signed with Osmose Productions in 2004, releasing their debut album Hate at First Seed that same year, produced by Jacob Hansen and featuring a cover of Motörhead's "Dogs". In January 2005, Phazm embarked on a European tour with Yyrkoon and Impaled Nazarene. The band released their second album, Antebellum Death 'n' Roll, in 2006, followed by a European tour with Decapitated. Their third album, Cornerstone of the Macabre, was released in 2008 and included a cover of Metallica's "Damage Inc.". The group announced its breakup in March 2009 but reunited for various performances. Phazm returned officially in 2012 under the initiative of Pierrick Valence and released their fourth album, Scornful of Icons, in 2016.
