The Ark, a Swedish alternative rock group formed in 1991, originated from Stockholm with founding members who shared songwriting duties and a collective stage presence. Their debut single "Joy Surrender" (2001) introduced the band’s blend of melodic hooks and atmospheric guitar work. The 2004 single "One Of Us Is Gonna Die Young" gained traction on Scandinavian rock charts, and the subsequent album In Lust We Trust (2002) solidified their reputation for introspective lyrics and robust live performances. In 2007 the duo released We Are The Ark (2007‑01‑24) and State Of The Ark (2007‑08‑30), the latter featuring the single "Clamour For Glamour" (2005‑03‑30) which charted within the top 20 of Sweden’s Sverigetopplistan. The band continued to evolve with Celestial Moods (2009‑10‑12) and In Full Regalia (2010‑11‑22), the latter including the track "Trust is Shareware" (2005‑07‑13). A final EP, Big‑5 : The Ark (2010‑12‑13), preceded their last studio effort, Arkeology (2011‑07‑05). The Ark’s career ended with the death of lead vocalist and guitarist on 2011‑09‑16, after which their catalog saw posthumous releases such as "Breaking Up With God" (2011‑01‑10) and "Apocalypse Is Over" (2011‑06‑06), maintaining their influence within the Swedish rock scene.
