Dejan Cukić began his career as a teenager, and in the early 1980s, as the frontman of the band Bulevar, he experienced his first successes in the former Yugoslavia. After releasing two albums, Bulevar disbanded, and in 1984 Dejan joined the formation of the group Bajaga & Instruktori, which would soon become the biggest and most popular act on the Yugoslav music scene.
At the height of the band's popularity, he decided to pursue a solo career.
Surrounded by a team of excellent musicians under the name Spori Ritam (Slow Rhythm), he released a series of well-received albums, always accompanied by engaging concerts. Dejan Cukić stands as one of the few reliable institutions in our unstable music scene. Although never at the top of the popularity charts, with songs like "Ja bih da pevam" (I Just Want to Sing), "Nebo jedino zna" (Only the Sky Knows), "Letnje kiše" (Summer Rains), "Julija" (Julia), and many others, he left a more sincere testimony of a time and a deeper imprint in the listeners' subconscious than the entire output of disposable hits that are forgotten within a few months.
