With 20+ songwriting credits attached to his name, Colin Wilson has made quite the name for himself in the Hamilton music scene. The 18 year old singer-songwriter began his musical journey at age 6 when he began to learn to play the piano. At age 7, he began to learn to play the drums. At 9 years old, he started professional vocal training, and at age 12, began to learn to play the guitar. Those who know Wilson will often tell you that there is almost never a moment where he doesn’t have a guitar in hand, or is working on better honing his craft in some way, shape, or form.
At the age of 14, Wilson began to take up songwriting. His after school hours were usually spent with a pencil in hand, and a sheet of paper on his lap; practicing his skills as a writer. “My songwriting is like wine”, Wilson stated. “Gets finer with age”.
Since his humble beginnings, Colin Wilson has taken on countless projects involving music. He is best known in the music scene as the lead guitarist of rock and roll group, The Chordvettes. In 2021, Wilson began to experiment with his sound and song-writing as an artist while in lockdown due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. These experiments resulted in solo material; a step in a new direction for Wilson. It’s safe to say that 2021 will see the release of new songs with a fresh new sound that you are sure to like.
