11 years ago i was told i had 2 years to live
i ended up undergoing a pioneering heart-lung surgery and given a second chance, and i didn’t take it for granted.
in the past decade, i got to:
- perform over 1,000 shows in 13 countries
- live (couchsurf, overstay my welcome) in austria, the netherlands, usa, belgium, uk
- never stay in one place for longer than 4 months
- fall in love very quickly
- fall out of love even quicker
- write a lot of songs about queer trauma
- make some best pals and play music with them
- get streamed over 50M times
- end up on bbc radio 1
- cry lots
in the last decade, i never got to:
- work with a label or a manager, this whole thing was done by me & me alone
- find any stability
- write the song that will change my life
i’m releasing so much more next year, and i’m finally starting to feel comfortable in my skin again. i’m living in london & (not so secretly) working as the head of social for mahogany (you know, the cool team who make all the sessions with people much more famous than me?)
can’t wait to see you down the line xoxo
