Detachments is a London-based electronic and art rock group formed in 2008 and led by Bastien Marshal. Born in Manchester and raised in Blackpool, Marshal moved to London where he initially formed the electronic project R3mote before establishing Detachments as a live-based band. Their sound draws significant comparisons to New Wave groups such as Joy Division and New Order. The ensemble released their debut single, “The Flowers That Fell”, in 2009, which was named Single of the Week by Drowned in Sound and achieved A-List status on NME Radio. Their self-titled debut studio album, produced by James Ford, was released in October 2010. The group has collaborated extensively with Peter Hook and released the Fade EP on Hacienda Records in 2012. Following the 2014 release of the Endgame EP, the band issued the Chain of Command EP through Young & Cold Records in 2018.
