Welcome to your favorite D-list pop artist's page. xx
Pop will always be the prime focus of Cleveland-based D-list pop artist Rybar (formerly known as “Hribstar”, or by his real name Matt Hribar). Since his musical inception, Rybar has created masterful hooks over a wide variety of pop-infused flavor, exploring ambient electronic to electropop, to alternative and piano-driven ballads. He writes, produces, mixes and masters all his material with concepts that are bound to be as eye-catching as they are ear-catching.
In his new era of pop music creation, he’s created a vast and diverse discography including "Grenadine" (2018) which explored life as a twenty-something with synthwave. "Game Over" (2019) was the story of a relationship with trap drum, house synth and glitchy pads. "Hot Intern" (2020) connected the workplace with the personal-place with sizzling electropop.
"Mountainfaller" (2020) was trance, part experimental and part pop, regarding the concept of a Greek god becoming mortal, "Bop City" (2021) was a return to pop music gold form with an emphasis on hooks and catchy lyrics. “Social Detective” (2021) blended nu-disco and viscous EDM for social commentary. Rybar’s “Christmas Naughtiness” (2021) was fun innuendo-filled pop music for the reason.
Rybar celebrated the two-year anniversary of Hot Intern with “Hot Intern (Overtime Edition)” (2022) which added ten new tracks and bonus material to the original iconic album. He then had a four-part comedy mixtape project that combined humor with catchy hooks: Duck It (2022), My Succulent is an Honors Student (2023), Have I Jumped The Shark? (2023) and Survival of the Dumbest (2023).
Rybar is currently in his 80s-inspired era which will come with Bronzesoul (2024) and Bronzesoul II (2024).
You never know what's next when it comes to Rybar. No doubt his music will continue to be unexpected and fun avant-garde pop.
