Hi I´m composer and pianist "Kaleidoscope of Colours". Check out my latest release "Bloom - Neoclassical LoFi"!
KALEIDOSCOPE OF COLOURS is the artist name of Berlin based contemporary composer and synesthete Susanne Geisler.
An aspect of Kaleidoscope of Colours' artistic journey are her synesthetic experiences, where she perceives colours in response to sound. This extraordinary phenomenon called “coloured hearing” allows her to translate her synesthetic perceptions into her musical compositions. And so it happens that the keys of her piano are no longer merely a black and white combination, but colourful images and shapes.
Each of her colour compositions stem from a vivid blend of certain colour scales, hues of sound and emotions, featuring a sonic tapestry of minimalistic, timeless melodies, harmony and repetitive pattern. Having worked for British composer Max Richter, her compositions often evoke a sense of introspection and contemplation, drawing influences from contemporary artists like German composer Lutz Gerlach, Arvo Pärt, Max Richter, Yann Tiersen or Michael Nyman.
In addition, the composer believes in the profound healing power of music. By exploring the interplay between music, synaesthesia, colours, and healing, Kaleidoscope of Colours aims both: to inspire others to explore the transformative power of art and to discover their own unique creative expressions as well as creating a multisensory experience that facilitates emotional release and relaxation in a sense overloaded world.
Following the release of the debut album "Music & Colours" in 2018, the first album composed on colour perceptions, and the 2020 released EP “ The Birth of Colours”, her upcoming third release “The Art of Colour Composing” marks the final release of the colour cycle and presents a mixture of post minimalist pattern wrapped into warm and colourful, emotive piano solo melodies inviting the audience once more on a profound journey of emotional and sensory exploration.
