After a hectic 2022 that saw the band release their sophomore EP 'Cherished' and bring their ferocious live show to packed crowds across the UK, Liquid State are back with their mammoth second single of 2023, 'Russian Roulette'. Produced, mixed and mastered by guitarist Kray Zellinger-Mundy, 'Russian Roulette' is an evolution of the modern style showcased earlier this year.
Speaking on the meaning behind 'Russian Roulette' , vocalist Keren explains: “It’s really about the battle so many of us have with ourselves. How it can feel as if there’s another voice inside of us that tries to lead us astray and take us down from within. It can feel so comforting to listen and lean into it when it feels like there’s nothing else, but it really never moves us in the right direction. That inner voice might be a part of us but it’s not what defines us as people.”
2023 has already been a busy year for Liquid State, seeing them both release their colossal single 'Cynical' and perform across the country alongside industry heavyweights Eat Your Heart Out and October Ends. Their new release 'Russian Roulette' will be bolstered with tours booked for later in the year and appearances at Burn It Down festival and Godney Gathering.
