Moving on from the peeling bedsits of their early years, their musically lawless jams took up temporary residence in a rented nine-bed farmhouse, allowing for unimpeded sessions, driven by the full force of their now six-strong outfit, with new permanent member Dan Gray. Having carved out their name as jazz subversives amongst the exploding UK scene, Ebi Soda are returning to their “more DIY approach - but pushing everything further.”
Their sophomore album Honk If You're Sad and the subsequent Collaborations and Remixes Vol.1 EP, boasting works with inter-genre talents Ash Walker, BODUR, JD. Reid and Yazz Ahmed, amongst many, amassed support from Jamz Supernova, Jamie Cullum (BBC Radio 2), and NPR (New Music Friday), including press accolades in The Vinyl Factory, Clash and Jazzwise, with inclusion in Spotify's Best of Jazz UK 2024.
The band have featured on compilations for Soul Jazz Records and Majestic Casual. Their mesmerising live shows have gained new fans at Gilles Peterson's We Out Here, London's Jazz Re:Freshed, SXSW Austin and EFG London Jazz Festival. Kicking off their new project, the band debuted new material at the recent Brick Lane Jazz x Patterns x Tru Thoughts showcase.
