Patrick Pellé, known as “Mundélé” (white in Lingala), grew up until the age of 9 in Kinshasa, where he naturally absorbed the atmosphere. This is also felt in his very swinging style of music, colored with rumba and soukouss, characterized by a “mid-composed” guitar tuning.
Once in France, he rediscovered the sanza (lamellophone) in 2008 thanks to the Makouaya Brothers, which pushed him to travel to Congo Brazzaville, where he met the great masters of this instrument, the late Antoine Moudanda and Papa Kourand .
After rubbing shoulders with several current music groups and having spent a long time rubbing shoulders with the Congo DRC diaspora (Lidjo Kwempa, Village Mongania collective etc.), he created the Paris-Kinshasa Express in 2012, which synthesizes in his compositions a pronounced taste for Central African music and classical musical training at the conservatory (lyrical singing and writing).
At the same time, he continues to collaborate with other artists such as the storyteller Sylvie Mombo (“Le Voyage de M’Toto Lunettes”) or the actor Ronan Oury (“A Portée 2 Voix”).
