Hi, I'm Nia Sierra. I'm a singer-songwriter by vocation and because there's no cure for it... I turn my feelings and experiences into music... Every moment of my life is a chapter that I transform into a song.
With my music, I want to share my feelings, experiences, challenges, doubts, and learnings; so that I can connect with those who listen to my songs and share that space of mutual empathy, so we don’t feel so alone. Music unites us in ways we can't even imagine.
I've always wanted to be an artist, a singer-songwriter, but it took me a while to find my voice. 'The Beginnings' or 'Los Comienzos' is an EP where I compiled the first songs I wrote during my musical exploration phase before I found my true essence. That path of self-discovery brought me back to the beginning, to the origin of it all, with my song 'Premonición' (Premonition) or 'Cómo Le Explico Al Corazón.' (How To Tell The Heart)
With this song ('Premonición') that was the first I wrote alone; I discovered my potential as a singer-songwriter. It was also the song that saved me because the story of the beginning of my musical career is that of a broken heart that still kept beating for a dream. Without this song, I might not be here today.
When I reconnected with it (with this song and with myself), I knew that my essence and message were in the truth it conveyed, in the truth of my story. It was from this rediscovery that the idea of composing my first album as a singer-songwriter emerged.
My album, which will be called 'Mi Nombre,' (My Name) will be released in September 2024. Songs like 'Vuelve Sin Amor,' 'Catedral del Mar,' 'Y Si Te Vas,' and 'Perfecta' are already part of it and tell my story and my truth step by step, chapter by chapter.
Join me on this journey back to my truth, in this roller coaster of emotions that is life. I'm sure you'll find something you can relate to.
Nia has worked with renowned singers, songwriters, and producers in the music industry. DJ Maff from the collective La Company - producers of major artists like Karol G, Maluma, and Madonna. She has collaborated with Colombian talents such as Criss & Ronny and Juan Palau, co-written songs with well-known songwriters like Gale and Bobby Sierra, and participated in synchronization projects for audiovisual productions in series for digital platforms and television.
On stage, she has performed alongside great artists. She was chosen as one of the standout new talents to perform at Megaland 2019 (a major concert event in Colombia). And in early 2020, she was the opening act in J Balvin's Arcoiris World Tour in her hometown.
NIA projects in her music the desire to inspire people to let out what they feel and never give up on their dreams. Her music is synonymous with resilience.
