FUTUREPEOPLE combine classic and contemporary in the vibrant debut single ‘Let Me Be The One’ released via Homefire Recording Co.
With an instant hook, ‘Let Me Be The One’ weaves Chic-inspired guitars, shimmering strings and slick synth bass into an addictive pop banger. The track’s infectious mix of disco, pop and rock has attracted comparison to the likes of Chic, Prince and Dua Lipa and received airplay on BBC Radio 2.
One of the first songs artist Jake Pattinson wrote, released through the alias FUTUREPEOPLE, the track explores hidden and unrequited feelings. “It’s about accepting the reality that you can’t stop yourself being captivated by someone” Jake said, “even if deep down you know you can’t be together.”
Recorded at Homefire Studios, the polished production echoes classics such as ‘I Want Your Love’ and ‘Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough’. Channeling the spirit of past eras FTRPPL reimagines the familiar sounds of Studio 54, which inspired the disco-pop infusion ‘Let Me Be The One’. The debut single will set the tone for 2021 as FUTUREPEOPLE looks to create an era of his own.
