Biography

Clara Luciani (July 10,1992) is a French singer-songwriter born to a Corsican family in Martigues, Bouches-du-Rhône. Before pursuing a music career, Luciani studied art history and had several jobs including working in a pizzeria, babysitting, and teaching English. In 2011, she met and joined the French rock group La Femme, contributing to their album Psycho Tropical Berlin (2013) as the vocalist on the tracks “La Femme” and “It's Time to Wake Up (2023).” Shortly afterwards, she left to form the duo Hologram with Maxime Sokolinski (brother of the French singer-songwriter Soko), releasing the EP Absolute Zero (2013). In 2015, she joined the singer Raphaël on tour, playing harmonium in support of his recently released album Somnambules. In 2017, Luciani contributed vocals to the track “Avant tu riais” by the French rapper Nekfeu. The same year she recorded an EP titled Monstre d'Amour with the help of the French musicians Benjamin Lebeau (from The Shoes) and Ambroise Willaume (from Revolver). Her debut album Sainte-Victoire (2018) was released the following year to positive reviews from the French music press. Luciani supported the album release with French festival appearances including Solidays and Francofolies as well as touring in the So Frenchy So Chic festival series across Australia. After earning a Victoire de la Musique award for Best Female Performer in 2020, Clara Luciani released the singles "Chanson pour ma vieille" and “Summer Wine,” a Lee Hazlewood cover featuring Alex Kapranos from Franz Ferdinand. Preceded by the single “Le Reste,” her sophomore effort Cœur saw the light in 2021.
