New album "Haunted Woodland, Volume 5" is out May 1 on Wayside and Woodland Recordings
Karen Vogt is an Australian artist, vocalist, and musician based in Paris. She uses her voice to create atmospheric and ambient/experimental compositions. She is mostly known for her distinctive, shimmering vocals with the dream pop band Heligoland she co-founded in 1999 and is produced by Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins).
Her solo music has been released on labels such as Nite Hive, Superpang, Waxing Crescent Records, and Wayside & Woodland Recordings. Her collaborations, most notably with longtime collaborators Jolanda Moletta, Pepo Galán (and as their duo Galán/Vogt) and Markus Guentner have been released on labels such as Longform Editions, A Strangely Isolated Place, Editons Furioso, Affin, and Fluid Audio.
