Guitarist, composer, producer and educator, Iury Matias is a Portuguese-Brazilian musician. His stripped-down way of composing goes through inspired creation and the influence of what he heard during his life. Born in 1982 in Natal (Brazil), Iury was raised in an environment of great cultural diversity. He started playing the guitar at the age of 14 and at 18 he included the electric guitar. He found inspiration in Toninho Horta, Pat Metheny, Mike Stern and Chico Pinheiro during his career. Iury released his first solo work “Nova Chance” in June 2021. Together with Filipe Morais, Diego Silva, Emerson de Oliveira, Paulo Silva and Kleber Moreira, he relied on the musicality of his friends to express the musical voice of his compositions.
