Maxime grew up in a household where music was predominant. You could always find a guitar, violin and singing at any family celebrations. At age of 12, his uncle showed him a few chords on the guitar: a passion was born. With practice, he developed his ear and played popular songs for the pleasure of all.
In 2008, his friends and family encouraged him to audition for Star Académie. To please them, he presented his candidacy and was astonished when he was invited to participate in the Montreal auditions, and even more so, when he won the Public Choice Award for his televised audition.
He then shared the stage with Jean-François Breau, Alfa Rococo, Michel Pagliaro, Andrée Watters, Marc Déry and Wilfred Le Bouthillier. In 2011, Maxime releases the song “Personne ne sera toi”, written and composed by Sophie Nault and Marc Dupré. The song reached the Top 20 Correspondent Charts at l’ADISQ. At the end of the summer of 2012, “Mon éternité” song by Maxime McGraw and Marie-Pierre Perrault is heard on the waves of radio station before his first album hits the shelves.
