Etta Scollo is an Italian singer born in 1958 in Catania, Sicily. She achieved professional recognition blending Sicilian tradition, pop avant-garde, and jazz after training at the Vienna Conservatory and winning first prize at the Diano Marina Jazz Festival. Her early career included collaborations with blues musicians including Eddie Lockjaw Davis and Memphis Slim. She achieved professional recognition in 1988 with the track “Oh! Darling” (1988), which reached Number 1 on the Austrian charts. Her recording career includes the tracks “Sole, sun, soleil” (1989), which reached number 16, and the duet “Insieme Fairplay” (1990) with José Feliciano, which reached number 30.
