One of South Africa's most profound emcee's not to mention arguably one of the hardest
workers to date, who is this individual? Well, he's better known as TERROR MC and this is a
recap of the future of SA Hip Hop.
IN THE BEGINNING
KraaiFontein. Cape Town, South Africa 1985, born during a period of political turmoil this
he would face various challenges before becoming known as the straight talking stage tearing
machine gun motor mouth we know him as today. He would experience death {and yes, he
actually died}and rebirth with after effects that would break even those amongst us of the
strongest willpower, this was due to a tragic accident which left him with severe swelling in
the cranial region and an imbalance on the left side of his body. Following this was a series of
frequent visits to juvenile detention centers and a brief stint in the country's nefarious
Polsmoor prison only to be found innocent on all charges, all this before the age of 17 how
did he survive this hell? It's simple, a hunger for knowledge, a keen sense for reading people,
a sharp tongue and an ever burning passion for Hip Hop.
A REASON TO FIGHT AND THE TOOLS TO BOOT
Fresh out of the "rehabilitation network" and sufficed to say displeased with the state of
affairs and the futile struggle of the blue collar populace he reassumed his alter ego {by now
widely known thanks to the classic track "Kaapse Vlakte" Terror mc started his journey to the
top of the food chain in 2004. Armed with only a backpack, a few beats (instrumentals) he'd
gotten from fellow rapper and producer HIPE {Wayne Lee Robertson} he threw himself into
a world where it's every man for himself. In a short period terror would be seen on every
stage and in every club even if his name wasn't on the lineup and heard on every campus and
community radio station including campus stations in Canada.
A TITAN AMONGST MEN
What's next up on the menu? Mixtape a la' terror mc raw and hold the salads, that's what you
get when Angolan dj and producer DJ CAVERA and a raw unfazed Afrikaans mc {note to
"Afrikaans legends" this was the first project to unite the two cultures and that's a FACT} get
together. What followed was a feeding frenzy, everyone wanted a piece of the terror but it
was avenger camp that got the prize, anyway back to what matters, this would see the mc
playing a very important part in the elevation of the rymklets phenomena as a founding
member of the Afrikaans super rap crew RAPBELS along with partners in rhyme
ELPHOENIX, one half of INFUSE rap group, and BRACEN KAYL {then known as
EDDIE SCABZ} and BRAINSTORMAZ members CREAM MACHINE and BITTER.
Subsequently each of the members went off in search of greener pastures giving terror time to
reflect on his career as well as perform at the fire on the mountain festival, bootleg drive by,
decks education and the AFRICAN HIP HOP INDABA twice. Which would lead him to SA
based UK producer D PLANET {Damian Stephens} and a spot on the highly anticipated
PLANETARY ASSAULT Mixtape which featured BEN SHARPA, DRIEMANSKAP,
RATTEX, KONFAB AND JAAK {another Afrikaans virtuoso}he worked with UK based
artists PURPLE SIMBA and SHYAM both signed to True Tiger Records and did a SA. And
Columbian collaboration with rapper EPHNIKO who he met at UCT Radio while he was on
tour Terror was featured in HYPE MAGAZINE and had appeared on MK89 and in the local
news papers various times. With a full album that dropped 15th November2008 the track
called Liberate yourself and Killing ya sound feat. CAPELTON from Jamaica produced by
D Planet he got a once off licensing deal with Nokia South Africa.
He started producing swell he produced rappers like Phoenix and MC Cole a group called C
4 under a independent label called Cap Col entertainment He performed with the The
legendary Dj's the BEAT BANGERS which consist of DJ READY D, DJ E20 and DJ AZUL
at the Night of the BEAT BANGERS, he moved to Mossel Bay in search for shows
(gigs). After a year he went back to Cape Town 2012 and worked with producer CHARLIE
HAMILTON the producer who had done songs for Jody Williams Vicky Samson Sasha Lee
David’s.2013 was the official start of his new project called “The Bio” 2014.In 2017 he
reunited with a school friend called Raymon Spitfire in Ravensmead and started producing
for him under his label 7493 Entertainment which have artist like Lizzy B Krapie Die Don
JuiceSoundz and C note and with all that hustling he performed at Arts cape Theater and a
hip hop platform called Underground Royals Most Wanted and completed Krapie Die Don’s
Ep called Blafrikaans and produced other new upcoming artist like Rosey the rapper on the
title track of her Ep Wie is Ek and Witbene a track called Aisha raak gou groot deel 2( part 2)
, Lindsey Langeveld’s track Tjappies and OG 92 R.A.S Anthem all of their singles got great
reviews from the Hip Hop community in Cape Town. Terror mc has earned his respect in the
Hip Hop scene in South Africa and abroad.
