Peter Holtslag, a Dutch flutist born in Amsterdam in 1957, studied recorder at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam. He graduated with distinction in 1980, inspired by Frans Brüggen. Holtslag's career began with global tours, performing with notable musicians and ensembles. His discography includes albums like Georg Philipp Telemann, the Twelve Fantasies for Recorder (1994), Telemann: Concertos Pour Flûte à Bec (2008), and Awakening Princesses (2012). He recorded several CDs for major labels including Hyperion and Aeolus. Holtslag also held teaching positions at the Guildhall School of Music in London, Royal Academy of Music in London, and Hochschule für Musik und Theater, Hamburg. He was awarded an Honorary Member of the Royal Academy of Music (HonRAM) in 2013.
