Livia Ferri is a songwriter, she writes about life and relationships and she talks about it through an acoustic guitar.
In her acoustic, warm, vibrant folk rock, the influences of strong and emotional voices and resonances melt together. An intimate and personal sound, made of folk, rock, blues, soul and the finest indie.
These songs are born from bare guitar and voice, as they are played on stage, where her live perfomer soul arise.
Born in Rome, in 1986, she learned music as a kid, listening to it from a walkman throughout long summer trips across Europe.
During high school she gets into fado, american folk music, Jack London's and John Steinbeck's books.
She plays and writes, as anyone else do.
She attends Saint Louis College of Music in Rome, studiyng Songwriting and, supported by her own teachers, among which Lello Panico, she starts to write her first songs, in 2009. In 2011 she graduates in Songwriting.
A bereavement in the family increases her desire to take care of herself and others, so in summer 2012, sustained by BlackBackCalico Records and M.I.L.K., Livia records her debut album “Taking Care”, presented in november 2012.
In 2013 three videoclips are released by as many songs again from Taking Care: Hopefully, Cassius Clay and Pavlov. She alternates collaboration with songwriter Thony, joining her band as guitarist and background vocalist and her own promotional tour dates, playing as acoustic quartet or solo.
That's how she shows up and achieve 4° place among Cornetto Summer of Music - Negramaro Contest 2013 finalists and plays as opening act for Kaki King's roman gig.
