Elbtonal Percussion, a German percussion ensemble, was founded in 1996, by Jan-Frederick Behrend, Wolfgang Rummel, Andrej Kauffmann, and Stephan Krause. The group's debut album, Percussion Works, was released in 1999 under Arte Nova/BMG. Elbtonal Percussion has collaborated with notable artists including Stewart Copeland of The Police, Keiko Abé, Trilok Gurtu, Benny Greb, and John Neumeier's Hamburg Ballet. They have performed at prestigious festivals such as the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival and JazzBaltica, and toured extensively across Europe and Asia. Their discography includes Time Twist (2001), Drumtronic (2003) with Christopher Dell on vibraphon, Four Elements (2005), In Concert (2010), Elbtonal Percussion Plays Stewart Copeland (2012), and Hamburg (2021). The ensemble has also contributed to film scores including The Baader Meinhof Complex and Pandorum.
