MAJA: IN LOVE
Dance Princess' Sophomore Album Launches
MAJA SALVADOR proves her musical endeavour is worth more than one album. It was only last year
when Maja, hugely known as the Philippines' Dance Princess, signed with Ivory Music & Video and
released her debut album Believe, the 27-year-old's groovy record crafted by renowned producer
Jonathan Ong which spawned hit after hit including the lead single "Dahan-dahan", the Abra-assisted
"Halika Na" and "Buong Gabi" featuring Project Pinas. More than just a dream come true for Maja,
Believe proved to be a commercial success, not only being certified Gold but ultimately went on to
Platinum status. It also led the way to her first solo concert last July 12 entitled "MAJ: The Legal
Performer".
With the boom of the early stage of her music career, Maja delves into its maturity with the release of In
Love, her sophomore album which has been highly anticipated not just by fans but also by critics who
were taken aback by what Maja has accomplished with Believe. Back with a sexier attitude, Maja's new
music explores a more emotional depth when it comes to sound, words and overall imagery. For
instance, the lead single employed a provocative title, "Bakit Ganito Ang Pag-ibig", whose mojos gear
away from the animated tracks of her debut. Considered a modern ballad, "Bakit Ganito Ang Pag-ibig"
touches on the emotional roller coaster of love. It also showcases Maja's vocal capacity in reaching
greater heights. On May 1st, the music video for the single was premiered, highly praised by the
audience as predicted.
Other songs from In Love are also in line for airplay: "Habulan", with equally compelling lyrics like
"...bakit di na lang magka-aminan?"; "Nakawin Natin Ang Sandali", a smooth, upbeat oasis to balance
out the emotional power of the album; the un-missable English-worded song "Love Me, Kill Me"; and
duets with Sam Milby ("Gaano Kalayo?") and Rayver Cruz ("Hiling") which are sure to magnetize fans.
