"LA based singer/songwriter WYLDE (Kristina Corbett) knew exactly what she wanted to accomplish from an early age.Her unconventional upbringing living in the converted attic of her Grandparents Boston house with her Mom and Brother led to her unique view of the world and informs her pulsing dark electronic sound.. “I wouldn’t change a single thing about the way I grew up. It taught me perspective and gratitude. Our space was small but filled with love and creativity. My parents always taught us we had the power to achieve anything we wanted.”
At 15 she left traditional high-school and enrolled in an online school as part of her plan to work full time and save up to fund her mission to move to Los Angeles. She spent those high school years differently than most teenagers her age, working full time during the day and catching up on school work late at night.“I wouldn’t allow myself to have a social life because I wanted to dedicate any free time I might have had to creating music.” This tunnel vision drive came to a head the day after her 18th Birthday when she made the journey across the country to Los Angeles alone, in pursuit of the next chapter her dream.Wylde’s “Lose Our Minds” is a collaboration with Andrew Frampton & Max Farrar, the same team behind Dark Pop Princess Au/Ra. Evoking a glitchy Ellie Goulding with a side of Halsey, It’s a blurry-eyed anthem for independant thought. From the brooding spare ambience of the setup to the hypnotizing beat that underpins the quirkyhook. This is a song for those courageous enough to go against the grain with a disregard for societal norms.“I chose to write we instead of I” says Wylde, “because I had a feeling I was speaking for a collective much larger than just myself. For anyone who’s ever felt different or weird, like they’re walking alone. I wanted them to know they’re the ones who carry the most fire. They’re the ones who will change the world."
