Drink Me is a Pop/Rock/Folk band from the Bordeaux region whose adventure begins in 2013. Vanessa and Philippe are the starting duo. Complementary, Vanessa is on piano, Philippe on guitar, and their voices harmonize with the sandstone of their songs. Drink Me was born from the desire to make simple music, an acoustic project in all simplicity, far from past experiences in metal. The title Bubble, spontaneous and light, starts from this will, it is the first step taken for the creation of Drink Me. Today, Lionel, on drums and Caroline, on bass and double bass, complete the band, more rock.
In 2014, Drink Me will record its first Ep, in the Hesat studios. The original 5-track ep is called Bubble, as the beginning of an adventure that will only get richer with time.
The second Ep, Faces, is released in January 2017. It contains 14 new original tracks + a bonus. These are the result of the collaboration of several musicians, unlike the first tracks on which Vanessa and Philippe recorded everything with their own means.
The experience is richer, the music more complete and more mature. Drink Me has found its sound signature and marks its universe in a recognizable way among all.
Drink Me's influences are many and varied. Starting from a very Rock, Post rock and Metal base, Philippe and Vanessa take a very new look at the Pop Folk universe.
Among the artists the musicians listen to are Angus & Julia Stone, John Butler Trio, Sleeping At Last, Puggy, but also artists like Hans Zimmer, If These Trees Could Talk, Chevelle, Soilwork and In This Moment.
There is no shortage of influences. Philippe who composes and writes the songs and Vanessa who participates in the arrangements, have the curiosity to always look for new sounds.
The music, as well as the lyrics of Drink Me, come from a desire to show more simplicity and acceptance in a complex and saturated world. These principles are the starting point for all the songs of the band. So we find the ideas of a return to the roots, a need to simplify things, to accept the dark part as much as the crazy part, not to push away the natural part. At a time when appearances must constantly be kept to hide ugliness, Drink Me brings a touch of melancholy, violent or dark, sometimes joyful, candid and enthusiastic.
Drink Me's music is direct and touching, straightforward and full of life and detail. Each song has its own underlying theme, its own world and each word brings a touch of sincerity without hypocrisy or hatred. Drink Me's challenge is to offer music that is interesting and thoughtful for the music lover while remaining accessible to the general public who may not have any musical background.
