Shahrdad Rohani is an Iranian-American composer, violinist, pianist, arranger, and conductor. He began studying violin at age five with his father, Reza Rohani, and later trained under Ebrahim Rouhifar. By six, he was learning piano, and at ten, he entered the Tehran Conservatory, studying under Swiss and Armenian instructors. In 1975, he moved to Vienna to continue his musical education and later earned a scholarship to UCLA in 1984. From 1987 to 1991, Rohani conducted the COTA Symphony Orchestra in Los Angeles and guest-conducted internationally with orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic and Minnesota Symphony. In 1993, he arranged and conducted the orchestral parts for Yanni’s Live at the Acropolis. Rohani’s albums include Dance of Spring (1991), Beauty of Love (1994), and A Touch of Serenity, Volume 1 (1996).
