Rubedo is three friends who grew up together in southwest Denver. Early in their career they were discovered by grammy awards winning keyboardist Ikey Owens (Jack White, The Mars Volta, Free Moral Agents). Owens produced and played on their first two records Massa Confusa and Love is the Answer. His mentorship helped define Rubedo's sound and experimentation.
Rubedo's dynamic sound caught the ear of many different artists and allowed them to share the stage with artists of a vast array of genres such as Thee Oh Sees, RZA, RX Bandits, Authority Zero, La Luz, Devotchka, DJ Nobody, BadBadNotGood and many more. Their new release Citrinitas show cases the dichotomy of the three friends with the first half being mellow and soulful and the second half grungy and aggressive.
