Folksy musician writing in three languages.
Annika Jayne is a singer-songwriter whose heartfelt, multilingual songs bridge cultures and emotions. Singing in English, French, and German—sometimes blending languages within a single song—she crafts intimate, poetic narratives set to delicate yet powerful melodies. Her music, inspired by folk traditions and personal experiences, invites listeners into a world where quiet sounds make waves and emotions take center stage.
Her journey began with Fabulous Sceneries, her debut album recorded in 2009 and released in December 2010. Featuring 12 original songs in English and French, the album was produced by Amin Jan Sayed at syemusic studio in Viernheim, Germany.
In 2016, Annika was selected to participate in Labos Chanson, a prestigious songwriting workshop in Astaffort organized by Voix Du Sud, the renowned songwriting school of Francis Cabrel. There, she honed her craft alongside Olivier Daguerre, Bastien Lanza, and Davy Kilembe, deepening her connection to French chanson.
Her 2020 EP, Time to Spread Your Wings, marked a new chapter in her career, featuring five songs recorded with Daniel Deboy (The Late Call) at timebirdmusic in Sandhausen. The project also included Petite planète, a collaboration with lyricist Franck Deschamps, recorded in home studios worldwide, addressing the fragility of our planet.
Annika’s creative journey continued in 2021 with Nostalgia, an EP written and produced for the RPM Challenge, reflecting on past moments through a warm, acoustic soundscape.
Looking ahead, Annika is set to release her acoustic folk album Cats & Coffee Cups on February 28, 2025, followed by Cats & Coffee Cups Bonus Songs on March 28, 2025. Six singles from the album have already been released, with one more on the way, offering a glimpse into her ever-evolving musical landscape.
