The Swiss folk music band die Fäaschtbänkler was founded in 2008 by the musicians Andreas Frei (guitar, vocals), Roman Pizio (trumpet, tuba), Roman Wüthrich (accordion, bass guitar), Michael Hutter (saxophone, drums) and Marco Graber (vocals, tuba). Their debut album Oagasenn was released in 2012, followed by Orgasmusik (2014). In late summer 2016, the band released the album Mitten in die Scheibe, which reached number 14 in the Swiss charts. The single "Can you english please" reached number 5 in the Swiss charts and achieved more than 15 million clicks on social media. One year later, in 2017, the Fäaschtbänkler were awarded the SWR4 Newcomer Band Prize. In summer 2018, the album Partyplanet is released and reaches number 84 in Germany, number 13 in Austria and number 4 in Switzerland. Their music is a mixture of folk music, pop, house, Schlager and rock. The band mainly plays classical wind instruments such as tuba, saxophone, trumpet and trombone. Between 2015 and 2018, the Fäaschtbänkler gave more than 250 concerts, including at the Woodstock der Blasmusik, Burning B(r)ass and World Blasmusik Days. 2020 sees the release of the album Wir sehn uns wieder, which reaches the top 10 in Switzerland, third place in Austria and 30th place in Germany. One year later, the band released the singles "Dubai" and "Nur für dich". In 2022, the Fäaschtbänkler release the double album Flamingo & Hoch die Hände Wochenende. The album reaches the top 20 in Switzerland at number 19 and in Austria at number 18, and reaches number 27 in Germany. After the live album Fäaschtbänkler Live (2023), another studio album, Viva, is released in 2024. Another studio album, Der schönste Tag in meinem Leben, follows in August 2025. The album reaches number 15 in the Swiss charts.
