Nino Machaidze, born on March 8, 1983, in Tbilisi, Georgia, is a Georgian operatic soprano. She began her musical education at six with piano and vocal lessons. Between 2000 and 2005, she performed roles such as Zerlina in Don Giovanni and Gilda in Rigoletto. In 2005, Machaidze was accepted into the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala. She debuted at La Scala as Najade in Ariadne auf Naxos in 2006 and won first prize in the Leyla Gencer Voice Competition in Istanbul. Her breakthrough came in 2008 when she was cast as Juliette in Roméo et Juliette at the Salzburg Festival, and earned international acclaim. She has since performed at prestigious venues including the Metropolitan Opera, Royal Opera House, and Paris Opera, taking on roles such as Violetta in La traviata and Mimì in La bohème.
