Bodast, a rock group from London, England, formed in 1968 with members Clive Skinner, Dave Curtiss, Bobbie Clarke, and Steve Howe. The name Bodast was derived from the first two letters of each member's first names: BObbie, DAve, STeve. In 1968, they recorded an album for Tetragrammaton Records, but the label went out of business before its release. A portion of their song "Nether Street" was later reused in Yes' "Starship Trooper" from The Yes Album (1971). The Bodast recordings were eventually released as The Bodast Tapes in 1981 and reissued as Spectral Nether Street: The Complete Collection in 2000. Howe's involvement with Bodast influenced his work with Yes, including fragments appearing in "South Side of the Sky" and "Close to the Edge".
