The Heavy Pets, an American jam band, formed in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 2005. The band gained significant traction in March 2--6 when they were selected to perform at the Langerado Music Festival. Their debut album Whale was released in March 2007, featuring tracks like "Operation of Flight" and "Sleep", which received heavy rotation on Sirius Jam-On. The band's subsequent releases included the EP Slow Motion Conductor (March 2008) and their self-titled album The Heavy Pets (April 2010), which was dubbed a Top 10 Album of 2010 by The Huffington Post. Notable collaborations include John Popper of Blues Traveler on "Girl You Make Me Stupid" and David Grisman on Swim Out Past the Sun (October 2011).
