Biography

Russell Hitchcock and Graham Russell first met when performing in Melbourne in the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Jesus Christ Superstar. Forming a vocal harmony group with Jeremy Paul, the band released their first single as Air Supply in 1976 titled Love And Other Bruises. Throughout their career, the band has seen an ever-changing line-up with the two constants of Hitchcock and Russell. In 1980 the band released what would go on to be their best-known hit All Out Of Love, achieving the number two spot in the Billboard Hot 100 and number 11 in the UK Albums Chart. 1981 saw the release of the album The One That You Love featuring the singles Here I Am (Just When I Thought I Was Over You), Sweet Dreams and the title track The One That You Love. In 1983 they released their Greatest Hits album which included the brand new single Making Love Out Of Nothing At All which reached number two in the Billboard Hot 100. After the release of their 1987 Christmas Album the band embarked on a two-year hiatus which resulted in some fairly unsuccessful solo work. After their break, Hitchcock and Russell reformed as a duo and released a string of albums and continued to tour in Asia and Australia where their biggest fan groups reside. The band was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2013.
