Rapper, singer, musician and producer Steve Roland Etogo Akpe, better known as One Love, was born on December 13, 1998 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. During his high school years, the rapper was as much a footballer as a singer, performing at school fairs. But in 2003, he won a singing competition and his career as a rapper took shape. The Mutzig beer brand's competition enabled the winner to become a professional by offering them national tours. After three years of high-profile concerts, the artist released his first album, Le ghetto veut aussi du gnama. The artist has his own style, somewhere between makossa-rap, afrobeat and ragga, and above all, he is very committed. He describes with subtlety the daily life of Cameroonian youth, and his discourse is very societal, whether it's about banditry, prostitution, sexually transmitted diseases or politics. Following through on his commitments, he is running for district mayor of Yaoundé in 2019. 2010 saw the release of de l'ombre à la lumière, from which "J'en ai marre" is taken , followed by David Vs Goliath in 2011 and Un nouveau souffle in 2014. The artist has released numerous singles, including " Boko Haram Tu Nous Ne Peux Pas" (2015), "Bidoung Kwpatt" (2016), "Paul Biya Doit Partir" (2018), "Fermez vos bouches" (2018), "Chicotter les lions" (2022), "Mode Avion" (2023). One Love is an ambassador for peace and climate, and sings at major events around the world.
