New album coming in Autumn 2021!
Jason O’Rourke is a traditional Irish concertina player and writer based in Belfast. To date he has recorded seven albums of Irish music. His 2nd solo album, The Northern Concertina, funded by the prestigious Arts Council NI Artist Career Enhancement Scheme (ACES) award, was released in September 2015.
Latest recordings include 'Madagoan' a collaboration with Irish band, Madagán and Indian singer Divya Naik from Goa, and a single 'Sheep Island', in 2019. A new solo album of entirely new compositions is forthcoming in Autumn 2021.
Jason has toured in Europe, North and South America and Asia, as a solo artist and with various ensemble projects.
As a writer he has had a number of short stories and poems published in print and online. He won the Fiddler’s Elbow short story competition in 2013 and has been nominated for a ‘best of the net’ award.
