Froilán Antonio Rodríguez Jiménez, known professionally as Anthony Ríos, was born on July 17, 1950, in Sabana de la Mar, Dominican Republic. He began his career as a singer and songwriter after moving to Hato Mayor del Rey, where he worked as a shoeshine boy and sang at local events. His breakthrough came when a promoter noticed his talent and introduced him to the music industry. Ríos released his debut album Anthony Ríos in 1983. Throughout his career, he wrote and performed numerous hits. He also composed songs for other artists like Fernando Villalona, Sophy Hernández, Yolandita Monge, Lisette Álvarez, Pastor López, and Fernando Allende. Ríos passed away on March 4, 2019, due to heart complications.
