François Daniel Roth, also known as Daniel Roth, born on October 31, 1942, in Mülhausen, Alsace, France, is a French organist, composer, and music educator. He began his musical journey with piano, inspired by Albert Schweitzer's film, "Es ist Mitternacht, Dr. Schweitzer", he transitioned to the organ. He studied at the Conservatoire de Paris in 1960, earning five first prizes under teachers such as Marcel Bitsch and Maurice Duruflé. In 1963, he became a deputy to Rolande Falcinelli at the Basilique du Sacré-Cœur in Paris, succeeding her as titular organist in 1973. Roth's international career took off in the mid-1960s, leading to significant wins, including the Grand Prix de Chartres in 1971. He served as titular organist at St-Sulpice de Paris from 1985 to 2022 and titular organist emerité in February 2023.
