Dopplereffekt, an American electronic music band from Detroit, Michigan, was formed around 1995 by Gerald Donald, who also contributed to Drexciya, along with William Scott and Kim Karli. The group's first release was the EP Fascist State, which included notable tracks such as "Superior Race" and "Scientist". This was followed by two more EPs, Infophysix and Sterilization. In 1997, Kim Karli left the group. The band's album, Gesamtkunstwerk, a compilation of their earlier EP releases, was released in 1999 on DJ Hell’s International Deejay Gigolo Records label. After a period of inactivity, Dopplereffekt returned with the album Linear Accelerator in 2003, marking a stylistic shift. Subsequent albums include Calabi Yau Space (2007) and Cellular Automata (2017). The band is known for its cold, robot-like sound and minimalist, repetitive style, often incorporating themes of science fiction and politics.
