German singer Dominik Büchele was born on February 23, 1991, in Herbolzheim. He gained initial recognition through his participation in the sixth season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar, where he reached the fourth place. Following this breakthrough, he collaborated with music producer Thorsten Brötzmann to release his debut album Ready on February 19, 2010. The album featured the single "Closer to Heaven", released ahead of the album on January 29, 2010. His second single from this album was "Brand New Day" which came out on May 7, 2010. In 2011, Dominik Büchele released his second album Again, which included two of his own compositions and the single "Hazel Eyes". He continued to perform at various events, including the Dresdner Stadtfest and Waltroper Parkfest in 2012. From 2012 to 2016, he pursued a music degree with a focus on songwriting and producing at the International Music College in Freiburg. During this period, he also performed with his band Umleitung, releasing their debut album Colours in 2016. In 2017, Dominik Büchele embarked on a journey following the Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada, which inspired his third solo album The Journey, released on February 23, 2018. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, he performed with Umleitung at the online music festival WeLive, produced by punchline studio, which reached over half a million users on social media and won the first prize at the 38th German Rock & Pop Awards.
