Pure Obsessions & Red Nights was formed by singer, songwriter, writer and producer Philippe Deschemin. Skillfully navigating through Dark Wave, Synthpop, Glam, Gothic, and Industrial Rock, Deschemin crafts a distinctive sound and a profound narrative universe, all centered around the enigmatic character of Mr. Strangler.
After two albums, a compilation of covers and remixes, and the publication of Deschemin’s 1st Syfy novel, Contoyen, PO&RN released the unanimously acclaimed Mr Strangler Trilogy - The rise and fall of a serial killer. A Murder Rock Trilogy:

In 2020, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer and Grammy Award winner Chris Vrenna ( former Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson ) mixed We Are the Stranglings (2021), a concept album depicting a community that reveres the late Mr. Strangler.
In 2022, Deschemin brought back Mr. Strangler from the dead for a new synth-driven Dark Wave cycle with a first act titled Let Your Obsessions Run Wild and a 2nd in 2023, Heirs of the Red Nights . To be continued...
