Geneviève Marie Andrée Charlotte Doyen, known as Ginette Doyen, was born on July 10, 1921, in Montceau-les-Mines, France. She began her musical journey at a young age, giving her first concert at seven and being accepted into the Conservatoire de Paris three years later to study under Lazare Lévy. Doyen's repertoire spanned from Bach to modern composers like Stravinsky and Gershwin. She performed extensively as a soloist with orchestras such as the Orchestre national de France and internationally in Europe, Africa, India, and Japan. Notable recordings include Lieder ohne Worte by Mendelssohn and works by Chopin, Beethoven, Fauré, and Debussy. Doyen's career ended in the 1970s due to a hand injury. She passed away on August 27, 2002, in Caumont-l'Éventé, France. Her contributions were honored with titles such as Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Mérite.
