Columbus, a punk pop group from Brisbane, Australia, was formed in 2012 by Alex Moses, Ben Paynter, and Daniel Seymour. The band's initial releases included the EP "Sad Songs and Sing-Alongs" in 2013 and "Home Remedy" in January 2014. In February 2016, Columbus signed with UNFD Records, releasing their debut album Spring Forever on August 26, 2016. The album featured themes of love and aging, with a sound comparable to bands like Moose Blood and Real Friends. Following this, the band toured extensively, including a UK tour between November 15 and 26, 2016, as an opening act for Roam. Their second full-length studio album, A Hot Take on Heartbreak, was released on May 25, 2018. The band also released the EP Next to Me in 2017.
