Inspired by the post-grunge and alternative metal scenes of the mid-1990s, Sevendust became mainstays of the American hard rock world with their raw sound and high-energy shows. The band formed as "Rumblefish" in 1994 in Atlanta, Georgia. A name change followed in 1996, and Sevendust released their self-titled, gold-certified album Sevendust one year later. Home followed in 1999 and reached number 19 on the Billboard 200, led by the modern rock singles "Denial" and "Waffle." Home eventually went gold, as did 2001's Animosity. Beginning with 2003's Seasons and come to a close with 2015's Kill the Flaw, Sevendust released eight consecutive Top 20 albums in America, cementing their reputation as leading members of the country's hard rock scene. The band evolved on a sonic level, too, embracing acoustic textures with 2014's Time Travelers & Bonfires and tightening their sound with 2018's All I See Is War. After reading number 2 on the Billboard Top Rock Hard Albums chart with Blood & Stone in 2020, Sevendust returned in 2023 with Truth Killer.
