Founded by Bamao Yendé in 2018, Boukan Records is a landmark electronic music label at the forefront of the new club scene. Drawing inspiration from every continent, from the depths of childhood memories to futuristic visions, the label fearlessly blends influences ranging from hip-hop, R&B, kwaito, coupé-décalé, baile funk, and ghetto house in pursuit of an eternal groove and vibrations that bring people closer.
By 2022, the label took a more professional turn and adopted a steadier release schedule. With a VA and appearances from Le Diouck, Mixbwé, Amor Satyr, and Tatyana Jane, Boukan Records has emerged as an active witness to today’s cultural effervescence—amplifying a scene fueled by liberated imaginations, guided by desire, light, and a drive to tell stories in new ways.
