Hailing from the unlikely province of Chao Zhao in southern China, Bufo migrated to Melbourne, Australia, after his parents left China following the Cultural Revolution in search of a better life. Having spent a decade of his early life working as an operational firefighter, Bufo eventually found his true passion for art and music within the thriving electronic music and creative culture of Melbourne. This flourishing cultural scene has been instrumental in his growth as a music producer, DJ, and artist.
Bufo has steadily risen through Melbourne’s vibrant electronic music scene, performing at events such as Intrinsic Gathering, Melburner's Shipwrecked, Magic Garden Festival, Paradise Plains, Confest, Underland's The Yard, The Tuna Factory, and Rumpus Room.
