Blue Zoo are an English new wave band active between 1980 and 1985, based in the United Kingdom. The original lineup of Blue Zoo included Andy O on vocals, Tim Parry on guitar, David Woolfson on keyboards and saxophone, Mike Ansell on bass, and Mickey Sparrow on drums. Initially known as Modern Jazz, they released their first two singles, "In My Sleep (I Shoot Sheep)" and "Ivory Towers" in 1981. In June 1982, Blue Zoo's single "I'm Your Man" reached number 55 on the UK Singles Chart, marking a significant breakthrough. Blue Zoo continued to release notable singles such as "Cry Boy Cry", which peaked at number 13 in October 1982 and stayed in the top 40 for eight weeks, becoming their biggest hit. Their debut album Two by Two was released in November 1983. In May 1983, their single "(I Just Can't) Forgive And Forget" reached number 60 on the UK Singles Chart. The band also performed live with additional musicians including Matthew Flowers, Pete Lancaster, and Steve Pond. Tim Parry later pursued a career in record production and artist management. Blue Zoo disbanded in 1985 but reunited for a concert at the Ginglik in Shepherd's Bush Green on July 22, 2010, followed by a tour of the Philippines in February 2013.
