Brady Seals (born on March 29, 1969) is an American singer-songwriter and part of a long lineage of country musicians. The nephew of Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Troy Seals and cousin of Jim Seals (of Seals & Crofts fame) and Johnny Duncan, Seals was born into a musical household and was already writing his own material by the age of 9. After leaving his home in Cincinnati, Ohio, at the age of 16, Seals returned to finish his education but soon headed to Nashville to try his luck in the music industry. He ended up joining country rock act Little Texas as a keyboard player alongside friend Del Gray, penning some of the group’s biggest hits and releasing a total of three albums: First Time for Everything (1992), Big Time (1993), and Kick a Little (1994). In 1996, Seals signed a contract with Atlantic Records and released his studio debut, The Truth, the following year. Co-produced between Rodney Crowell and Seals himself, the album spawned the single “Another You, Another Me,” which peaked at Number 32 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. He followed up with a self-titled album in 1998, which produced three charting singles, and Thompson Street in 2003. Seals took a break from his solo career and formed country outfit Hot Apple Pie with musicians from his backing band, releasing an eponymous debut album in 2005 that reached Number 6 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums. After a four-year silence, he delivered Play Time, his fourth solo LP, in 2009.
