ROLLING STONE MAGAZINE (D): “[koe:r] SUSYSTEMS leads straight into the realm of strokes of genius.”
Austrian composer & vocalist SUSANNA RIDLER works in the field of jazz, electronics, contemporary music, literature & art pop. She released a remix of Gershwins' Summertime for Universal and developed her jazz/electronic project [koe:r], a mix of acoustic & digital sound aesthetics. She released two [koe:r] records and a remix EP on her label Electroland Records Vienna; all to be re-released digitally 2024. She wrote music for film, theater, radio plays, vocal & chamber music. Her album “GEOMETRIE DER SEELE–musical Homage to the poet GERT JONKE”, nominated for the GERMAN RECORD CRITICS' PRIZE (1/2021), will follow as “digital edition”.
JAZZTHING (D): “Her versions sound like poems set to music, consistently designed and interpreted for the digital age.”
DER STANDARD (A): “There are the idiosyncratic recompositions of old standards such as “You Go To My Head”, in which the singer, flanked by Wolfgang Puschnig's frenetic alto saxophone, vividly implements the song's lyrics by building up to the highest register of the head voice. SUSYSTEMS confirmed her as a singer/songwriter in a refreshingly independent category.”
KURIER (A): "thrilling and relaxing, touching and eccentric, overall catchy but, if you listen closely, cumbersome and strangely shaped. Simply beautiful.”
